This program is designed for mid-level managers and supervisors. It is delivered over three to six months in a biweekly, mostly "lunch and learn" format.

Modules are designed to:

  • Educate participants on the core competencies of Emotional Intelligence, and of their importance to effective job performance
  • Increase participants' awareness of their own strengths and areas for development
  • Help participants develop targeted EI competencies for improved job performance

The modules comprise film case studies, experiential exercises, skills-building sessions and peer coaching sessions. They can be delivered by Sea Change facilitators or trained internal facilitators. The core modules can also be interspersed with related content modules delivered by internal facilitators.

Early in the program, participants will complete the Emotional Competence Inventory™, involving self, peer, direct report, manager, customer and others' feedback as appropriate. Each participant will be given a detailed feedback report and a one-on-one consultation to prepare a personal development plan.

  • Enhanced awareness of one's strengths and development needs with respect to the EI competencies
  • Strengthening in many of the EI competencies acquired through individual and group development activities, on-the-job practice and peer coaching
  • Enhanced effectiveness as managers or supervisors that leads to improved performance by their teams

*We use highly research-validated assessment instruments such as the Emotional Competence Inventory™ the Managerial Competency Inventory™ and others developed by the McClelland Institute. Assessments are self or multi-rater-based.
